Method
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until translucent.
- Add ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Stir in marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix ricotta cheese with half of the Parmesan cheese and a pinch of salt.
- In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Layer 3 noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, a third of the béchamel, and a third of the mozzarella.
- Repeat the layers: meat sauce, noodles, ricotta, béchamel, and mozzarella, finishing with a layer of noodles topped with remaining meat sauce, béchamel, and mozzarella.
- Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
