A golden, cheesy lasagna with meat sauce, served on a rustic plate with basil, in a warm kitchen.
This lasagna is a delicious blend of savory ground beef, aromatic herbs, creamy béchamel, and melted mozzarella, all nestled between layers of pasta. The taste is rich and hearty, offering a perfect balance of flavors that will comfort your soul.
Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until translucent.
Add ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Stir in marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
In a separate bowl, mix ricotta cheese with half of the Parmesan cheese and a pinch of salt.
In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Layer 3 noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, a third of the béchamel, and a third of the mozzarella.
Repeat the layers: meat sauce, noodles, ricotta, béchamel, and mozzarella, finishing with a layer of noodles topped with remaining meat sauce, béchamel, and mozzarella.
Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese on top.
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
