Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Make the Garlic Yogurt Dip
- In a small bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
- Stir in chopped parsley or dill (if using).
- Cover and refrigerate while you prepare the halloumi—this lets the flavors meld.
Step 2: Make the Sriracha Honey Glaze
- In a small saucepan, combine honey, Sriracha, soy sauce, melted butter, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
- Warm over low heat for 1-2 minutes, just until smooth and slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 3: Prep & Coat the Halloumi
- Cut halloumi into 1-inch cubes and pat them dry with paper towels. (Removing excess moisture helps with crisping!)
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, and salt.
- Slowly whisk in sparkling water, stirring until you get a smooth, slightly thick batter.
- Toss the halloumi cubes into the batter, making sure they’re fully coated.
Step 4: Fry Until Golden & Crispy
🔥 Pan-Frying Method (Best for Crispiness!):
- Heat ½ inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Using tongs, carefully drop battered halloumi cubes into the oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
🔥 Air Fryer Method (Lighter & Still Crispy!):
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly spray the basket with oil and arrange battered halloumi bites in a single layer.
- Air-fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden.
Step 5: Toss in the Sriracha Honey Glaze
- Place the crispy halloumi bites in a large bowl.
- Drizzle the warm Sriracha honey glaze over them and toss gently to coat.
- Now grab a piece, dip it in the garlic yogurt, and enjoy that crispy, spicy, creamy bite!
