Preheat Oven
- Heat oven to 200°C / 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare Filling
- In a bowl, toss sliced pears with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour until evenly coated.
Assemble the Galette
- Place pastry sheet on the prepared baking sheet. Arrange pears in the centre, leaving a 5 cm (2-inch) border. Sprinkle walnuts over the top and dot with butter.
Fold Edges
- Fold pastry edges over the filling, pleating slightly as you go, leaving the centre exposed. Brush pastry with beaten egg.
Bake
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, until pastry is golden brown and pears are tender.
Finish & Serve
- Drizzle with honey or maple syrup if desired. Serve warm, ideally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
