Instructions
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Make the Sweet Chili Slaw
In a small bowl, mix cabbage, carrot, chili sauce, mayo (or yogurt), lime juice, and season with salt and pepper.
Toss to combine. Chill in fridge until ready to assemble.
Step 2: Prep the Hot Honey
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey, chili flakes, and vinegar.
Heat gently for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally—don’t boil.
Remove from heat and let infuse while you cook the halloumi.
💡 No time? Use store-bought hot honey and warm slightly before drizzling.
Step 3: Cook the Halloumi
Pat the halloumi slices dry with paper towels.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add halloumi slices and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
Remove and set on paper towel to drain.
Step 4: Toast the Buns
In the same skillet, melt butter and toast the inside of the slider buns for 1–2 minutes, until golden.
Step 5: Assemble the Sliders
Spread a small spoonful of sweet chili slaw onto each bun base.
Add a slice of crispy halloumi.
Drizzle generously with warm hot honey.
Top with extra slaw (optional) and the bun lid.
Serve warm, with napkins—they’re delightfully messy!
Notes
Optional Add-Ons
Add a slice of pickled jalapeño for extra heat
Use arugula or baby spinach for extra greens
Drizzle with garlic aioli or sriracha mayo for extra richness
Swap slider buns for mini brioche toasts for a party canapé version
